What’s a girl to do when she likes Warcraft and Jane Austen, shoot ‘em ups and tea parties, explosions and shoes? Write about it of course! Welcome to Evil Tree, a hodgebodge of rants, advice, and introspections on being a female gamer. Ever since I was a little girl curled up around the Atari and Commdore 64 I’ve loved to game. When the first Tomb Raider came out I played and played (and saved and jumped and died, and restarted and saved and jumped…), I got into bloody bouts of Quake and Unreal with my brother and father, as well as Mario Kart and Guitar Hero. For the past few years my drug of choice has been World of Warcraft. My wee resto druid (a sexy Bessie known as Kava) takes up a considerable amount of my non-work and school time. I help lead a small scale raiding guild known as Dread Pirate, one of the best guilds around at holding their rum. In my non-gaming leisure time I recently graduated with a degree in English and music, play cello (yes, I did teach myself the Eversong Woods cello solo), read anything good from Medieval lais to Verner Vinge, and hang out in coffee shops with my fellow nerds.

I like emails, and emails will find me at kava@eviltree.net.
